Compare Three Reading Sizes Using the Same Passage

BiblesClick ·

Every handwriting style has a 'sweet spot' where it looks its best. BiblesClick provides three different reading sizes to help you find exactly where your custom alphabet shines. By comparing these sizes using the same passage, you can determine if your letter shapes are better suited for a compact, information-dense view or a large, artistic display.

The Compact View

The smallest size setting is excellent for getting an overview of a larger passage, such as a full chapter in Proverbs. It allows more verses to fit on the screen at once, which can help you see the structure of the writing. However, this size requires your letter drawings to be very clear and distinct, as small details can become harder to see at this scale.

When testing this size, look specifically at how your letters like 'e' and 'o' appear. If the counters (the holes inside the letters) are too small, they might fill in at the smallest setting. If you notice this happening, you can go back to the BiblesClick editor and use the eraser tool to open up those spaces for better clarity at smaller scales.

The Balanced Standard

The medium size is the standard balance for most users. it provides a comfortable reading rhythm that feels similar to a printed book. This is a great size for reading through the narratives in Genesis or Exodus, where you want to maintain a steady pace without the text feeling too cramped or too sparse.

In the medium view, you can really start to see the personality of your handwriting. The curves of your letters and the specific way you draw punctuation like question marks or exclamation points become prominent features of the page. It is often the preferred choice for those who want a blend of efficiency and aesthetic enjoyment.

The High-Visibility Option

For those who have created very decorative or bold alphabets, the largest size is a necessity. This setting showcases the effort you put into every stroke of the mouse or stylus. Reading the poetic verses of the Song of Songs in the large size can be a very impactful experience, as each word occupies a significant portion of the screen.

The large size is also helpful if you are reading on a smaller device, such as a phone. By increasing the text size, you compensate for the smaller screen real estate, making the custom alphabet easier on the eyes. It ensures that the unique 'signature' of your hand-drawn letters remains the focal point of your reading session.

Scale and Export Considerations

While these three sizes offer great flexibility, a realistic limitation is that BiblesClick does not offer a PDF export of every book for free. Exporting your selected book as a PDF with its own unique layout requires specific account eligibility and payment. The in-browser reader is the primary way to enjoy these three size settings for your personal alphabet.

Additionally, remember that BiblesClick is not a translation tool and does not change the underlying scripture. It is a visual editor and reader for specific books like Numbers and Deuteronomy. The text remains the same; only the visual representation changes based on your drawings and the size setting you choose in the reader interface.
