Reuse a Familiar Alphabet Across Selected Books

BiblesClick ·

One of the most powerful features of BiblesClick is the ability to 'load' your completed alphabet into different books within the catalog. You don't have to draw a new set of letters every time you want to switch from reading Genesis to reading the Psalms. Once a style is finished and saved, it becomes a versatile tool for exploring various parts of the supported scripture.

Seamless Style Application

To reuse an alphabet, simply ensure it is one of the five saved styles in your local browser storage. When you enter the reader, you can select which book you wish to view—such as Leviticus or Deuteronomy—and the system will automatically apply your active alphabet to that text. This creates a sense of visual continuity as you move through different biblical themes and histories.

This reuse is particularly satisfying when you have spent a long time perfecting a specific style. Seeing that same 'hand' navigate the laws of Exodus and then the wisdom of Proverbs makes the digital library feel like a cohesive, personal collection. It transforms the act of switching books from a technical change into a continuation of your personal creative journey.

Multi-Language Flexibility

The ability to reuse your drawings also applies across the four supported languages: English, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. If you are bilingual or studying a new language, you can read the same book in two different languages using the exact same handwriting. This can provide a familiar visual anchor when you are dealing with unfamiliar vocabulary.

For example, you could read a chapter of the Psalms in English and then switch the language to Spanish to see how the same letter shapes form different words. The BiblesClick reader makes this switch easy with a simple dropdown menu. Your alphabet remains the constant element while the linguistic content changes around it.

Visual Continuity and Focus

Consistency is key when building a habit of reading. By using a familiar alphabet, you reduce the 'visual noise' of switching between different fonts or formats. You become accustomed to how your own 'g' or 'y' looks, which allows you to focus more deeply on the message of the Song of Songs or the narrative of Numbers.

If you find that a certain alphabet works better for one book than another, you can save up to five different styles. Perhaps you have a very formal, neat alphabet for the Pentateuch and a more flowing, cursive-style alphabet for the poetic books. BiblesClick allows you to manage these named styles locally to suit your reading mood.

Scope of the Catalog and Saving

A realistic limitation to remember is that BiblesClick does not include the entire Bible. The catalog is specifically limited to Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Psalms, Proverbs, and Song of Songs. You cannot apply your custom alphabet to books outside of this selection, such as the New Testament or other historical texts.

Furthermore, while you can save up to five finished alphabets locally, unfinished drafts are not protected in the same way. If you start a new style but don't finish it, that draft only exists in your browser's temporary storage. Always complete and name your alphabet to ensure it is available for reuse across the different books in the BiblesClick catalog.
